About

‘Our President is a Crocodile’ is a political satire on the current Indian political landscape and explores themes of ignorance, complacency, and resistance in India. It highlights the lengths people go to justify their beliefs, often to absurdity. The film shows its protagonist - Sandy, walking through a neighbourhood of people all unwilling to see that their president is a crocodile or worse, do something about it.

Many aspects of my life and experiences inspired the story of ‘Our President is a Crocodile.’ This idea stemmed from my interest in understanding political ignorance and selective knowledge among the people around me, particularly within the context of Indian politics. Through my research, I aimed to look at social and psychological reasons behind complacency among people, while also trying to discover storytelling techniques fit for the type of theme I was dealing with.

Drawing from my lived experiences and extensive research, my aim was to highlight critical issues and themes, encouraging people to rethink their political stances and question their beliefs - and disbeliefs.
